They really need to stop giving out those numerical ratings. If someone is not smart to deduce if the presenter likes the car they're testing based on what they're saying, I'm not sure they're smart enough to breathe. I don't believe that a point of view, a complex judgement can be accurately conveyed with an ultimately arbitrary number.

The fact that ratings often contradict what's been said in the review makes it even worse. In this case Harris said the 3 was a hoot to drive, while it only got a 3/5 in the 'Smile' category. I understand that the other drive contributors didn't think find the BMW very fun to drive, but why not have them explain what they didn't like?

I give myself a 20/10. Our ratings average at 13,8/10 and we've gotten nowhere.

Incidentally, I think that is also the attitude some of the /DRIVE contributors have towards those ratings.
